Last week we had some wild weather here including cyclonic winds and dust storms and it was the later that interested me as it is far from a usual occurrence here. So Saturday i took a drive to see what the area of the storm looked like and i was shocked to see how hard the drought had hit this area. The road i drove was the Lower Marshes Road, I think of it as the Road to Jericho

Turning off the midlands highway at Melton Mowbray it struck me that this deserted house was a bad sign perhaps of things to come.

Seemingly deserted was this old home with its impressive sandstone design it looked like it belonged somewhere else other than here

Behind the sandstone home was these buildings appearing to be a barn, stables and perhaps quarters?
