The Road to Jericho
Last week we had some wild weather here including cyclonic winds and dust storms and it was the later that interested me as it is far from a usual occurrence here. So Saturday i took a drive to see what the area of the storm looked like and i was shocked to see how hard the drought had hit this area. The road i drove was the Lower Marshes Road, I think of it as the Road to Jericho
Turning off the midlands highway at Melton Mowbray it struck me that this deserted house was a bad sign perhaps of things to come.
The road to Jericho aka Lower Marshes Road. With the exception of what must be an irrigated field on the right, it struck me how dry everything was.
It was very much a country road with more than a few time coming across sheep on the side of the road
Seemingly deserted was this old home with its impressive sandstone design it looked like it belonged somewhere else other than here
Behind the sandstone home was these buildings appearing to be a barn, stables and perhaps quarters?
