HMAS Tobruk

(c)hobartdaily.com - HMAS Tobruk docked in Hobart

HMAS Tobruk docked at Princess Wharf Number 2. The ship is a multi -purpose troop and roll-on/roll-off, heavy vehicle carrier built near Newcastle , NSW. The design includes facilities for bow and stern loading, beaching, a drive-through capacity and inter-deck transfers via ramps.

I was lucky enough to sail on the ship in 1993 as embarked forces and found that the experience just reinforced that i was better suited to the Army than the Navy as i am not a fan of being stuck on a ship for days at a time!

The Blow Hole Blows

(c)bichenodaily.com - The Blow Hole at bicheno, Mid Blow

This is a shot of the Blowhole at Bicheno in mid blow on Saturday Morning. Thanks to some unpleasant weather there were some big waves. I had hoped to be able to add a video of the event but through some bad luck my video camera ended up at the bottom of a deep puddle just after this shot was taken.
