Bicheno is home to many including Faerie Penguins who have a Rookery  near Diamond Island. Photography is difficult as these birds come ashore at night and flash photography is out as the birds have no eyelids which means a camera flash can leave them blinded for life. Guides carry torches with specific frequencies of light to leave the penguins unaffected.

Every year as part of the Hobart Summer Festival the centrepiece is always the Taste of Tasmania  which attracts around 200,000 people during its annual run seeking to eat and drink the best that Tasmania has to offer.

As well as the Taste itself it also attracts busker’s and street performers who entertain the masses. I took a quick visit to the Taste today and by far the highlight was the clown cleaners wandering around causing trouble and directing traffic (pedestrian)

I stood for a couple of minutes watching this man and his dog. The Man would swim across the river and the dog would follow. Then he would swim back and the dog would again follow.

I noticed a fire last night and i had the chance so i grabbed the cameras and headed off to get a few photos. Turned out the fire i could see was a small one (7 ha) on the Queens Domain and while the fire website declares the fire contained there is not much to see (as the last photo suggests!)
