Gunpowder Magazine

Featured in today’s update is the Gunpowder Magazine on the domain at Hobart. It was known as HM Victoria Gunpowder Magazine and was built using convict labour in three stages between 1851 and 1858 and remained in use until 1972. Its features include sandstone external walls, nearly 2 metres thick.

No matter where i go on the east coast it is not uncommon to see an old cottage in a field somewhere in a gradually worsening state of decay like this one near St Marys

Graveyards can be interesting places to visit photographically speaking although i avoid photographing some areas like the childrens’ section as it is too sad, especially so soon after christmas with presents and decorations left. This grave was for a master mariner and also his son.
